How To Fix AirPods Not Connecting Issue?

1. Cross-Check Your Bluetooth

The first solution is very basic and straightforward. If you are facing AirPods not connecting issue with your AirPods 1, AirPods 2, or AirPods Pro, then the first thing that you should make sure of is that Bluetooth is turned on in your iPhone.

For checking this, Visit Settings, then Bluetooth, and make sure that your Bluetooth is turned on. You can even go to the control center of your iPhone and check whether your Bluetooth logo is blue colored or not.

2. Check Compatibility

You must check the compatibility of your AirPods before connecting them to your iPhone. Different generations of AirPods are compatible with different versions of iOS. Here’s the iOS version compatibility of different AirPods.

1st Generation AirPods - iOS 10 and later

2nd Generation AirPods - iOS 12.2 and later

AirPods Pro - iOS 13.2 and later

You can check the iOS version of your iPhone, by visiting Settings > General > About.

If in any case, your iPhone is running on an older version of iOS, then you should download and install the latest software update for your iOS.

3. Charge AirPods

If your AirPods are not getting connected to your iPhone then it might be possible that they don’t have any charge left with them. So, you should try putting your AirPods in the charging case and let them charge for at least 20 minutes before taking them out.

4. Turn Off-On The AirPods

If the above three solution doesn’t make any change for you, then visit Settings > Bluetooth, contain completely turn off your Bluetooth. In this case, do not turn off Bluetooth from the control center.

After waiting for a couple of minutes, turn on your iPhone Bluetooth again and try pairing it with your AirPods. Make sure that the lid of your AirPods charging case is open.

5. Set As Audio Device

Here’s what you need to do to fix this issue, visit the control center, long-press on the music option, after that click on the AirPlay icon. Now choose your AirPods as your default audio device.

6. Set Up AirPods Again

Setting up AirPods all over again is one of the most effective ways to fix any communication-related issue on your AirPods. Just follow the below-mentioned steps to set up AirPods.

  • Keep the AirPods back in their case, and keep the lid closed for at least 15 seconds.
  • Now, open the lid, and keep holding the setup button until you see the LED flashing white light.
  • Now, bring the iPhone close to the AirPods case, and you will see that your AirPods will get automatically connected to your iPhone.
  • Lastly, just follow the instructions that appear on your iPhone Screen to set up your AirPods as new.

7. Reset AirPods

Lastly, if none of the above-mentioned methods work for you, the only option you are left with is resetting your AirPods. For resetting your AirPods just follow the below-mentioned steps.

  • Put back your AirPods inside its case for at least 30 seconds.
  • Open the lid, and then visit the settings of your iPhone and then Bluetooth.
  • Click on (i) indicator next to the name of your AirPods, and then click on forget this device.
  • Now keep holding the setup button for at least 15 seconds or until you see the LED flashing Amber color light.
  • Lastly, bring the AirPods case near to your iPhone and keep following the instructions that come on your iPhone Screen.

8. Visit Apple Store

You can visit the Apple store if resetting your AirPods also doesn’t work for you. It might be possible that your AirPods will be having a hardware issue. Therefore, you should replace it with new AirPods.
