What to do if CSGO Keeps Crashing?

If you don’t have a good PC or laptop CSGO might lag or even crash several times. This problem takes place in some high-end PC too. So, here are some solutions for preventing the CSGO crash.

1. Check the Battery

In desktop-type gaming setups if the main power supply has been cut off and the entire setup is running on backup power then the game might continuously keep crashing and even if it doesn’t crash it will keep lagging.

The same way on a laptop if it’s running on battery saver mode it will keep lagging and finally, it will crash. So good battery or battery backup is very important for preventing the game from crashing.

2. Graphics Driver Needs To Be Updated

The game might crash if you are using an outdated graphics driver or which is fairly old for playing modern triple-A titles such as CSGO and many more. Graphics drivers need to be new or have to be regularly updated as per the requirements of the game. If you don’t have the skills and knowledge to update the drivers then just update the drivers with “Driver Easy”.

It automatically updates the drivers. It identifies your system and updates the graphics driver automatically. You won’t have to worry about the wrong drivers and installation problems. Driver Easy handles it all. It has one pro version and also has a free version for those who don’t want to take the pro subscription.

3. Overclocking of the GPU

Overclocking the GPU might be a great option for a great smooth and faster gameplay however the pc has its own limits through which it can push. If the pc is overclocked too much then it might crash not only the game but also the pc.

If the pc was ever overclocked before starting the game then changing the clock speed to default will solve the problem of the game repeatedly crashing.

4. Verification of the Integrity of Game Files

Sometimes the files of the game might be corrupt or might be misplaced. In case the files are missing they can be downloaded from steam or redownloading the entire application might solve the problem. If the antivirus program is enabled then that might be deleting the files as false positive.

The best way to solve this problem is by opening steam and going to the games library. After opening the steam library select CSGO and right-click on the logo or the name after which a tab will appear where at the end verification of bin files will be present.

Click on that option and then after the verification is complete close steam and also close the game. Try to run the game and the game will run successfully. If it doesn’t then restart the pc and perform the same steps again after you click the repair or install files the game will definitely run successfully.

5. Launch the Game (CSGO) in Safe Mode or Auto Config Mode

If your game is not opening or crashing again and again while playing then running the game in safe mode or auto config mode might solve the problem.

To run the game in auto-config mode just open the properties by right-clicking in steam. Next, click on the launch option and delete whatever is mentioned and enter -auto-config and click ok. And your game will run successfully. Similarly set the launch codec to -safe for running in safe mode.

6. Reacquiring All the CSGO Game Files

Reacquiring all the CSGO game files might help in solving the problem of the game crashing while launching or playing. For doing this you first have to hit the windows and the E button together after which you will have to enter or just copy-paste the following program C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam.

Into the address bar and hit enter. Now click on the steam apps folder and rename it as old_steamapps. If it works then just copy the new files to the old steam apps folder and rename it to steam apps again to play your other games also.

Conclusion

CSGO is a game that has pretty high requirements and you definitely need a great PC to play at a competitive level. Graphics cards of at least Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 and 4GB of VRAM are necessary for avoiding crashes, glitches, and frame drop or lag.

Some high-end laptops like the HP omen series and the Asus Zephyrus series just offer the same and help us to play the game as we expect. Hope this article and the steps mentioned in this article help you solve the problem of CSGO crashing.
